Virginia Pena Diaz, born on February 25, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in her beloved hometown. Virginia was a wonderful lady, known for her caring and loving spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Arturo Peña, and the cherished daughter of Victor and Virginia Diaz, who have also preceded her in death, along with her brother Gustavo Diaz.
Throughout her life, Virginia cultivated a vibrant world filled with simple joys. Her passion for reading was matched only by her love for crossword puzzles, where she would often find inspiration and delight. Those who were lucky enough to know her will fondly remember her skillful hands dedicated to knitting and crocheting. Many family members will cherish the handmade treasures she lovingly created, each stitch woven with care and affection.
Virginia's greatest treasures were her family, including her brothers Manuel and Victor Jr., and her sister Aurora. She took immense pride in the lives of her numerous nieces and nephews, showering them all with love and wisdom that they will carry forward. Her delightful chihuahua, Magan, stood faithfully by her side, a true companion in her life's journey.
Virginia's warmth and kindness will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of encountering her light. As we gather to celebrate her life, we invite friends and family to join us at the South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels in San Antonio. There will be a visitation on October 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM.
Though she may no longer walk among us, Virginia Pena Diaz leaves behind a legacy of love that will resonate in the hearts of many. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the fond memories and resilient bonds shared with those who loved her deeply.
