Sylvia Trejo Gonzalez on May 8, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on February 14, 1944, in Harlingen, Texas, Sylvia lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sylvia was the heart of her family and was blessed to dedicate her life as a homemaker, creating a home filled with love, comfort, laughter, and faith. She found great joy in caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who entered her home. Her welcoming spirit made everyone feel like family, and her unwavering faith in God guided every part of her life. Whether she was reading, dancing, cooking for those she loved, or laughing with her sisters, Sylvia brought light and joy wherever she went.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Sylvia believed strongly in the power of prayer and the importance of family. She led by example through her kindness, grace, and selfless love. Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Mario Gonzalez, smiling and dancing together once again.
Sylvia is survived by her loving children, Marito (Sonia) Gonzalez, Chacha (Henrik) Enkelmann, and her baby angel Marcus (Sara) Gonzalez; her cherished grandchildren, Uylesses Torres, Clarissa Torres, Isaiah (Lauren) Gonzalez, Nathan Gonzalez, Isabel Gonzalez, Jaxson Gonzalez, and Mateo Gonzalez; along with her beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy.
She is also survived by her siblings, Rudy Trejo, Grace Hoch, and Janie Garza, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mario Gonzalez; her parents, Longino and Irene Trejo; and her brothers, Raul Villarreal and Alex Trejo.
Her family will forever remember her beautiful heart, comforting prayers, contagious laughter, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy of faith, devotion, and family will continue to live on through all those she loved.
Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love, prayers, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
