Susan Swank Elliott

Susan Swank Elliott, born April 19, 1945, in Austin, Texas, to Capt. James Ray Reese and Nora Reese, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doyle Willis Elliott, her parents, and her sister, Nelma Reese. She is survived by her son Scott Swank and his wife Debbie, and their two children, Cameron and Brandon; her son Matthew Swank; her brother Dennis Ray Reese and his wife Sue, along with two nephews and three great‑nephews; and her cherished Chihuahua, Penny.

Susan grew up in Austin and attended The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a teaching career. After many years in education, she continued her studies at Texas State University, earning her paralegal certification. She went on to clerk for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and later built a successful career in real estate law, which led her to San Antonio in the 1980s.

Family and friendship were the heart of Susan’s life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She shared countless adventures with Doyle, her family, and her friends—traveling, cruising, painting, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, and dancing. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her. Though she will be missed beyond measure, the joy she brought to others will continue to shine in the memories she leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2026, at Crosspoint Fellowship Church, 2600 Roy Richard Dr., Schertz, TX 78154. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by services at 11:00 a.m.
