With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stanley “Stan” Winchester, who left us on February 27, 2026 in San Antonio, TX. Born in Long Beach, CA to Beatrice and George Winchester, Stan’s life was one filled with adventure, kindness and a deep commitment to his family and friends.
A proud Eagle Scout, Stan excelled in sports during his high school years at Woodrow Wilson High in Long Beach, playing tennis and running track. He completed a degree in Zoology at Long Beach State University and pledged the SAE fraternity. After graduating, Stan served his country as a Lieutenant in the Navy. Stan channeled his passion for nature into his career, founding Living Interiors, an interior plantscaping company. He traveled the country leading motivational seminars in his field. He was also on the Advisory Board of the New York Botanical Gardens.
Beyond his professional achievements, Stan was an avid sailor, hiker and world traveler as well as a Master Gardner. His sense of adventure led him to bungie jump off a bridge in New Zealand, climb numerous mountains and sail many seas. He was an integral part of any organization he joined.
