Rufino 'Rudy' Tapia

TAPIA Rufino Rudy Tapia, Ret. USAF, age 72 of San Antonio, Texas passed away December 15, 2011. Immediate survivors include, wife Emilia Rangel Tapia; son Ruben Tapia; daughter Irma Linda Tapia; brother Louis Tapia; brother Vicente Chente Tapia; niece Dorthy Vasquez; sister-in-law Candelaria Rangel; and numerous other nephews and nieces. As his son described him, Rufino Tapia was a head strong, stubborn at times, individual who proudly served the Air Force for 21 years active duty and 12 years as a civilian employee. He was a providing husband, an extremely loving father, and a reliable friend. Folks might not have always agreed with him, but he was the first person they could turn to when in a bind. His tough and loving persona, along with his great sense of humor, will all truly be missed. The immediate family will be holding a private memorial service.
