Le sobrevive sus padres Albino Villegas y Clara DeAnzo, y su señora de 14 años Adelaida Vargas, su hijo Omar Villegas, sus hermanos y hermanas Ofelia Villegas, Gerardo Villegas, Eva Villegas, Flavia Villegas, Candelaria Villegas, Teresa Villegas y Alberto Villegas; numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas y otros familiares. Ruben le gustaba pasar tiempo con su familia y le vamos a extañar mucho.
