Rosa Elia Loa, a devoted member of her family and a cherished friend to many, was born on March 16, 1949, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on July 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Rosa's personality was vibrant that warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She possessed a passion for cooking, especially baking, and was renowned for making the best cookies that were a staple in her home. Her joyful spirit and culinary delights brought people together, creating moments that will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Rosa was a devote Catholic, living her faith daily, instilling values in her family as she nurtured their spirits with the same love and care she put into her baking. She was especially adored by her grandbabies, including all of her adopted grandbabies whom she cared for and babysat as her own. They were all the light of her life. Rosa’s genuine love for her family extended across generations, creating a close-knit family filled with affection and support.
She is survived by her son, Salvador Loa III; her daughter, Janie Loa (Rick Garza); her brother, Jose Luis Aguirre (Amada); her sister, Josefina Martinez; and her grandchildren: Lauren (Andrew), Alex (Chris), Jonathan (Kristel), Abby, Jacob, Justin, Amy, and Josiah. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Izabelah, Aaron, Milah, Taylor, Katelynn, James, and Evan.
Rosa was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Salvador Loa Jr., who she adored and cherished throughout their life together. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rose Gallegos; her loving parents Martin and Maria Aguirre; her sisters, Guadalupe Aguirre, Elva Aguirre; and brother, Gonzalo Torres.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on July 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. A Rosary will follow at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass will be celebrated in her honor on July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 907 West Theo Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78225. The graveside service will take place shortly afterward at San Fernando Cemetery III, located at 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78226.
Rosa’s warmth and smiles will forever be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
