Robert Bruce "Po Po" Hill, a dedicated professional truck driver and U.S. Marine veteran, has bid farewell to this world at the age of 75. Born on June 26, in the year 1948, Bruce's journey came to a peaceful end on February 14, 2024. Throughout his life, Bruce carved a path marked by hard work and dedication. His career as a professional truck driver spanned many years, where he traversed highways with skill and determination, making countless connections along the way. Beyond his profession, Bruce was known for his adventurous spirit and active involvement in various organizations. He found excitement in seeking thrills and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 657, V.V.A. Chapter 366, First Marine Division, D.A.V. Kel-Lac, V.F.W. Post 76, Harley Owner's Group, Second Marine Division., Third Marine Division, and A.A.R.P. His commitment to these groups showcased his desire to contribute meaningfully to his community. Among Bruce's most notable experiences was his time serving in the U.S. Marines, a chapter in his life that shaped him into the resilient individual that many admired. Outside of work and service, Bruce found joy in traveling-a passion that complemented his career as a truck driver perfectly. His enthusiasm for exploration enriched his life with diverse experiences and unforgettable memories. As we mourn the loss of Robert Bruce Hill, we also celebrate the life he lived and the profound impact he had on those around him. He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Helen Hill, along with his brother Ward William Hill. Bruce leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished moments that will be forever treasured by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Mary Davidson; son Robert Bruce Hill II; sister Debbie Elizabeth Hill; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as one great-great-grandchild. In honoring Po Po's memory, let us carry forth the values of hard work, adventure, and community that defined his remarkable journey on earth. May he rest in peace, knowing that he touched the lives of many with his kindness and dedication. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2024 but the time and location are pending at this time. He will be buried at a later date to be announced, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
