With cherished remembrance, we honor the life of Richard Decker, who departed this world on July 12, 2026.
Born on July 29, 1966, Richard’s journey was one etched with love, laughter, and unyielding devotion to his family. Richard’s presence was that of warmth and steadfast companionship. To know him was to know a man who loved being surrounded by family and loved ones, ever finding fulfillment in their presence and joy in their happiness.
As a father, Richard leaves behind not only memories but a rich legacy in his beloved daughter Felecia Decker and his dearly treasured son Ilan Decker (Marissa Decker). His guidance and unwavering support were constants in their lives, anchoring the best of family traditions and echoing his gentle wisdom in their everyday moments. The circle of his affection further embraced his sister, Natalie & Rudy Martinez, and his brothers, Gary Decker and Dennis & Vivian Decker. The next generation brought even greater delight to Richard; his grandchildren, Kaelani Willis and Robert Gutierrez III, Favorite Uncle to Brandon , Aniston, Cristian , Brooke Elma, and Allie Rose who filled his later years with laughter, pride, and light.
In commemorating Richard’s life, we remember a man who found solace and entertainment in the simple pleasures of existence. He delighted in watching movies, immersing himself in cinematic adventures that brought both joy and wonder. A devoted fan of the band Heart, Richard often filled his home and life with their music. His boundless curiosity led him to explore the mysteries of the universe through countless books about aliens and Bigfoot, each one inviting him to dream and embrace the possibilities of the unknown.
While we mourn his passing, we honor, too, those who have gone before him: his father, Richard Decker Sr.; his mother, Elma Decker; and his second cousin, Yvonne Pena Casarez. Their memories are joined now with his, resting gently within the hearts of all who remain.
Richard Decker’s love of family, his zest for stories—both real and imagined—and his spirit of kindness endure as an everlasting gift to all who were privileged to know him. His memory will inspire celebrated stories, gentle laughter, and above all, gratitude for having walked alongside such a remarkable soul.
As we gather to remember and bid farewell, let us hold close the image of Richard surrounded by those he loved, content in the warmth of togetherness and in the richness of a life so well lived.
