Raymond Gonzalez Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend in the lives of many, was born on March 18, 1955, in New Braunfels. He passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in University City. A lifetime resident of Texas, Raymond was an active member of his community, serving as an Associate Board Member of the Tri-City Baseball League, where he passionately contributed to youth sports and cultivated a sense of camaraderie among families.
Raymond was celebrated as an adoring husband to his wife Mary Alice, with whom he shared 47 incredible years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He was a loving father to his children: Junie (Jon), Tony (Christina), Ricky Joe (Valyene), Stephanie, and Jeromy. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, including Damian, A.J., Lainey, and Inbound, who will forever remember their "Popo" for his kindness and his epic sense of humor.
Raymond's warm personality made him a joy to be around. Whether he was out on the water fishing, sharing a hearty laugh with friends and family, or offering support to those around him, he touched countless lives. He is also survived by his sisters Tede (Carlos), Nana (Leo), and Rachel (Teddy), as well as his brothers Joe (Stephanie), Jesse (Lydia), and Robert (Iva).
Preceding him in death were his loving parents, Avelino and Guadalupe Gonzalez, and his siblings Angie, Avelino Jr., Johnny, Mike, and Benny. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation services for Raymond Gonzalez Sr. will be held at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, Northeast located at 14315 Judson Rd, San Antonio, TX 78233, on November 29, 2025, starting from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Rosary will follow at 2:30 p.m.
Raymond's passing leaves a remarkable void, but his spirit will endure through the lives he touched and the memories he created. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
