Priscilla Anne Zarr, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, loyal friend, and vibrant member of her community, passed away on April 4, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 5, 1948, in Ruth Nevada, Priscilla lived life to the fullses and rarely sat still for too long. She was always on the go; travelling, visiting friends and family, volunteering, planning events, and filling every room she entered with energy, laughter, and warmth.

Priscilla never met a stranger. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and included. Whether she was organizing a celebration, checking in on a friend, or spending time with her family, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her outgoing spirit and joyful personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was a treasured wife for 40 years to her late husband, Gary, whose memory she carried closely in her heart throughout her life. She was also the beloved daughter of Margaret and James, now deceased, sister to Margaret Mary Thakor, and brother Harold Thistle.

Above all else, Priscilla was an incredible mother and grandmother. Her children never doubted how deeply they were loved, cared for, and supported. She is survived by her son Shawn and his wife Martha, and her daughter Michelle and her husband Anthony. Her grandchildren — Catherine, Brady, and Emily — were the absolute center of her world. She adored attending their activities, celebrating their accomplishments, spoiling them every chance she could, and creating memories they will carry forever.

Priscilla believed retirement was meant to be lived fully, and she certainly did just that. She stayed active in her community through organizations that meant so much to her, including Wreaths Across America, the Garden Ridge Women’s Club, and the Garden Ridge Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. Many knew her as the heart behind countless events and celebrations for the Garden Ridge Police Department, where she loved bringing people together and making every gathering special.

She also loved baking for family and friends, traveling whenever she had the opportunity, and staying active through Pilates. Her calendar was always full, her door was always open, and her life was centered around the people she loved most.

Family and friends are invited to gather and visit in celebration of Priscilla’s life on May 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels. Following this, a police procession will lead to a Graveside Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery from 1:45 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Priscilla’s legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, and service to others. She lived with purpose, embraced life wholeheartedly, and made every person around her feel important. While her family and friends will miss her deeply, they will continue to carry her joyful spirit, kindness, and love with them always.
