Pedro R. Hernandez
Pedro R. Hernandez passed away on March 14, 2010 at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife: Fidela A. Hernandez; sons: Pete Hernandez, Felipe Hernandez and his wife, Lupita, Joe Hernandez and his wife, Terry, Father Steve Hernandez, Julian Hernandez; daughters: Berta Marrquin, Flora Hernandez, Janie Galaviz, Maria Caballero and her husband, Martin; sisters: Carla Palomo and Maria Medrano. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Pedro was in the Army from December 11, 1941 - December 15, 1945 where he proudly served in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 179, for 44 years. He worked for Missouri Pacific Rail Road for 13 years, Dean Word Company for 14 years, Mission Valley Mills for 8 years, and Wurstfest for 4 years. He enjoyed dancing, exercising, reading, and music. His favorite song was: llegates tarde. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels, New Braunfels, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, 9:00 AM, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
