Ophelia Camilla "Millie" Bradley, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, cherished wife, aunt and sister-in-law, passed away at home in Universal City on May 2, 2026. Born August 20, 1940 in Beloit, Alabama, Millie lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering, loving commitment to those close to her.
Ophelia's journey was largely one of service and compassion. She faithfully served her country as a US Army Psychiatric Medic for five years, exemplifying strength and empathy in equal measure. Following her military service, she embraced her gift for craftsmanship and created a thriving, 40+ year home business as a seamstress. Using her Associates degree and self taught skills, Millie touched and assisted countless people with her mastery and dedication.
Ophelia was known for her incredibly patient and kind-hearted nature, which was balanced by a fierce love for and protection of her family, and a subtle yet quick wit. She was keenly attuned to the needs of others, especially the elderly and differently abled, consistently extending a helping hand without hesitation. Her vibrant and magnetic personality easily drew a wide array of people to her and she held them with her warmth, ease, and compassion.
Beyond her career and service, Millie was a phenomenal cook and baker, celebrated by her family for preparing incredibly delicious meals and desserts with love and creativity. She embodied the spirit of generosity in every dish she crafted, providing so much comfort and joy through her culinary capabilities.
Ophelia is lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, William; her children Cassius (Avril), Yvette, and Lori; as well as her grandchildren Dominique, Jamell, Soul, and Baxter. She was preceded in death by her mother Ida, father Richard, brother Richard, and sisters Ann, Alma, Joyce, and Edwina.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Millie touched are invited to honor her memory at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel located at 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio, TX 78233. Visitation will be held on May 11th, 2026 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM, with a prayer service from 11:30AM to 12:30PM.
Ophelia Camilla Bradley's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her spirit remains forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
