Mason Stanley

Mason Kimball Stanley, a beloved son, brother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 3, 2026 with his father and mother by his side, following a courageous 10-month battle with T-cell leukemia. He was 18 years old. 

Mason was born in Gilbert, Arizona, on December 18, 2007, to Richard and Pauline Stanley. As the second of seven children, he brought a unique warmth, energy, and calming presence to his large and loving family. A young man of profound faith and action, Mason lived a life dedicated to the service of others. He graduated from high school in 2025 and eagerly anticipated serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was assigned in the Salta Argentina Mission, which was set to begin in January 2026. Though a diagnosis just three weeks before his departure altered his earthly plans. Mason faced his illness with incredible strength. He has now been honorably reassigned to a higher mission on the other side of the veil.

Known for his quick wit, joyful sense of humor, and brilliant mind, Mason had a rare talent for all things mechanical and a boundless passion for learning. He possessed a natural gift for understanding how things worked, and aspired to become an airplane mechanic. From computers to complex engines, he spent countless hours buying broken items, meticulously restoring them to working order, and selling them—often finding far more joy in the challenge of fixing them than in using them himself. Mason loved to work with his hands and expand his mind, eagerly throwing himself into learning all sorts of unique skills, from soap making, leather crafting, and forging to expressing his creativity through playing the guitar and singing. He was always in motion, channeling his vibrant energy into productivity, creation, and helping those around him. 

Above all, Mason was an example of Christlike love. He was consistently kind, gentle, and a source of quiet comfort to his family and friends. His legacy of faith and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply and profoundly missed. 

Mason is survived by his loving parents, Richard and Pauline Stanley, and his six siblings: his brothers, Brigham, Roland, and Heber; and his sisters, Ainsley, Adele, and Alyssa.
