Mary Lou Rios lived by faith and passed in faith this year of 2023 on February 6th. Born and raised in San Antonio, TX she was the eldest daughter of six children. Mary Lou helped her father, Gilberto Rios, and mother, Leonora Rios, by leaving school and going to work at a very young age. She was among the many women that entered the workforce in the early 1960s. She was one of the first women to run a delivery route for Frito Lay and gave 29 years of service to Bill Miller Bar-B-Q and had hoped to retire upon reaching her 30th year. She dedicated her life to her work and family, but also to her faith in Jehovah God. Mary Lou wholeheartedly worshiped and served Him, preaching His word to ensure all His children had the same hope she believed in. She was a strong woman, determined and faithful. Mary Lou loved music and loved to dance. Her free spirit on the dance floor always attracted admiring attention. In her later years, Mary Lou traveled, visiting New York and Canada where the Jehovah's Witness headquarters was five times; she sailed on six cruises throughout the Caribbean and also lived in Austin for 10 years. Her love of family kept her faith strong so she may have the hope of seeing them again. Mary Lou Rios is survived by four loving children, three siblings and her faith in Jehovah God.
