Martha Elieta Caceres Mauldin, born May 1, 1949, in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, passed away on October 25, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, after being diagnosed with glioblastoma earlier this year.

Martha lived with remarkable energy, deep love, and capable hands that seemed always ready for the next task. She was very loving and helpful, a woman who cared faithfully for each person in her family. She offered help without being asked, accepted people as they were, and believed that differences were part of what made life interesting. Happy and often silly, she was shy and quiet in her younger years, and later became direct, outspoken, and full of conviction. She was a lifelong learner who delighted in working with her hands. Martha took classes in upholstery, stained glass, painting, swimming, and even later in life rode a three-wheel bike. She loved building things, working in the garden, fixing cars, restoring furniture, sewing, crocheting, caring for animals, and learning whatever she set her mind to. If she could find it on YouTube, she would learn it. She loved learning about the world, health tips, and the Bible, and she was always ready to offer advice meant to help others.Home and family were at the center of her life. She enjoyed caring for her daughter and two granddaughters who came to live with her. Among her proudest joys were seeing her daughter Bea graduate from college, helping raise her granddaughters Franchesca and Kiersten, and watching them grow, go off to college, and especially witnessing them welcome Jesus into their lives.

In her final months, many visitors came from near and far. There are blessings in knowing that life here is ending and having enough time to be with one’s beloveds. Martha was showered with love and deeply enjoyed being able to receive everyone in the comfort of her home. That same spirit of care extended through friends, neighbors (Glis, Mike and Marco), and extended family who carried meals, desserts, visits, and practical help to her door. The family acknowledges the specific support from Frankie, Sandra, Kiersten, Franchesca, Kim, Emma, Yolanda and Jesse, Yolanda and Guillermo, Jimmy, Cheri, Christian, Melissa, Margie, and Geovany. We apologize for those who we failed to mention here who have encouraged us in innumerable ways. Martha is survived by her mother, Maria Elsa Caceres; by her sisters Maria, Mirta, Gloria, and Dora; and by her brothers Ruperto, Alejandro, Arturo, and Mario. Martha is also survived by her children: Beulah “Bea”, Kim (Gladys), Scott (Andrea), Anita, Emma Grace (John William), and Elizabeth. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Monica, Adrian, Windy, Rachel, Sarah, Sam, Luke, Hannah, Jeshua, John-Mark, Peter, Christian, Izzy, Marshall, Adam, Ryan, Brandon, Katherine, Meredith, Wes, Victoria, Franchesca, and Kiersten; and through her great-grandchildren Samuel, Crickett, Adriana, Alexa, Lilly, Sean, Mason, Peyton, Savannah, Nathan, Ava, Mateo, Lorenzo, Noa, Caleb, Wyatt, Sammy, Sloan, Corewin, Aryn, Lowen, Nora, Soren, Marin, Lilah, Brooke, Ellianna, Trystan, and Truitt. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Butler Kimball Mauldin, Sr.; her father, Alejandro Blandon, Sr.; her sons, John Blaine and Henry Quin; her granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth and Ellen Margaret; and by her brothers Carlos, Luis, Manuel, Marvin, and Justo.

A visitation celebrating Martha’s life will be held on November 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. Family and friends are invited to share memories, laugh, sing, and tell stories.

She fixed what was broken, tended what was growing, welcomed those who needed care, and poured herself into the people she loved. Her family carries forward her example, her lessons, her warmth, and the enduring memory of a woman who never stopped giving.
