His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his memory shines brightly, sustained by the love and warmth he shared with family and friends.

Mark was more than just a name; he was a passionate devotee of the University of Texas Longhorns, finding joy and spirited enthusiasm in every game. This simple pleasure reflected a vibrant part of his character—one that embraced life's moments with dedication and zest. His devotion to the Longhorns was a thread of joy woven intricately through the fabric of his everyday existence.

Born in Turkey, Mark's life's path eventually led him to San Antonio, where he built connections and touched lives. Those who mourn his passing include his stepmother, Stella Medellin, and his brother, Curtis Medellin, who stand by each other amidst this sorrow. The echoes of his legacy continue through his nieces and nephews: Ivana Chavez, Juan Carlos Chavez, Sarah Medellin, Juan Ruiz, as well as a great nephew, Valentin Ruiz, all of whom carry forward his spirit in their hearts. Additionally, his cousin, Norma Medellin, remembers him dearly.

A public visitation will take place on May 15, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. During this time, loved ones and friends will gather to celebrate Mark’s life and the indelible mark he left behind. At 6:30 PM on the same day, a Rosary service will be held at the chapel, offering a moment of reflection and spiritual solace.
