Mark peacefully passed away on October 26, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by love.
He was born on July 2, 1964, in Springfield, Ohio, and grew up in Fairborn, where, in 1983, he graduated from Fairborn High School. In 1984, Mark proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country for 10 years until his honorable discharge in 1994.
In 1995, Mark met the love of his life, Cynthia (“Cyndi”), and the two were married that May. Though he never had biological children of his own, Mark became a devoted father to Cyndi’s daughters, Cheri and Jessica — and from that day forward, the word “step” never existed in their family. He was simply Dad.
Mark had an adventurous spirit and a heart full of wanderlust. His family affectionately called him a “Rolling Stone” because he never stayed in one place for too long. He loved to travel, work on cars, go camping, ride roller coasters, and, most of all, spend time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia (“Cyndi”) Lamberson, his father, James Lamberson, his mother, Brenda Rayburn Lamberson, and his infant grandson, Eduardo Vasquez III.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheri Valverde (Paulo) and Jessica Vasquez (Eduardo); his sisters, Karen Lamberson and Deanna Lamberson Plantz; and his six beloved grandchildren — Kaytlin, Jaden, Lexi, Mia, Anjel, and Sky — who brought him endless joy.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Christus Hospice team of San Antonio and the staff at Parklane West Medical Center for their compassionate care.
Mark will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and the love he gave so freely. His adventurous soul is finally at rest, reunited with his beloved Cyndi and other loved ones in Heaven — free from the burdens of this world.
“Mission complete, Airman. Your watch is over. Rest easy — we have the watch now.”
