Maria G. Sanchez, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend, departed this world on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and joy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on April 8, 1931, Maria dedicated her life to her family and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.

A devoted mother to her daughters Leslie Marie Uresti and husband Tomas Uresti and Aida Aracely Carrillo and her husband Raul Carrillo.  Maria created a nurturing home filled with laughter, warmth, and the delicious aroma of her famous tamales, often hailed as the best in the world. Each holiday season, her kitchen would become a lively gathering space, where family and friends would connect over meals that she lovingly prepared, each bite infused with her passion for cooking and caring.

Maria's love extended beyond her immediate family. She shared a precious bond with her 9 siblings who have shared many joyful moments and memories that will keep her spirit alive in their hearts. Her grandchildren, Desiree Mora and her husband Ricardo Mora, Roger Thomas Salazar and his wife Stephanie Salazar, Adriel Steven Carrillo and his wife Kylee Carrillo and Andrew Carillo, along with her great-grandchildren, Marcellus Maximus Mora and Aurelia's Mora, were the apple of her eye. Every dance, every smile, and every shared moment solidified her role as a guiding light in their lives.

Maria was a woman of vibrant interests; she often found bliss in listening to the soulful melodies of Vicente Fernandez. Gardening was another delight, where she found peace while nurturing the flowers and plants that adorned her home. A steadfast lover of life, she treasured the moments spent dancing, bringing joy not only to herself but to all around her.

Christmas held a special place in her heart. The thrill of opening gifts and creating new memories with family filled her with a childlike joy that she radiated to everyone. She cherished her meals at Luby's, where she made lasting memories over good food and great company.

Maria is reunited with those who have gone before her, including her beloved spouse Jesse Sanchez, her father Tomas Montalvo, her mother Maria Guadalupe Villanueva Montalvo and George Mireles, the father of her daughters. Their legacy of love and kindness continues through the lives she touched.

As we remember Maria G. Sanchez, we celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with warmth, laughter, and endless love.

Our mom will be greatly missed and we all loved her very much. Te queremos mucho Mami. Que Dios me la bendiga, hasta pronto Mami.
