It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved mother Maria Teresa Flores passed away on March 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She was affectionately known by her children as "Mamma, Gordis and Mami Chula". She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Nicanor Hernandez; her husband, Johnny Vidal Flores; and her granddaughter Sabrina Jean Flores. She is survived by her sister, Socorro Hernandez, her sons Louis Flores, and Juan Flores, his wife Jessica, their sons John Addison & Alec Logan, and her daughter Maria Griffin and her husband Viktor. Her granddaughter Jennifer Warren, her husband Danny, and her great-grandchildren Derek Michael and Cayla Riann. Her sister-in-law Carmen Flores and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and later moved to Cardenas, Guanajuato, Mexico. She met her future husband there when he was down for a visit. They married and moved to Texas. As a military family, we traveled quite a bit and later settled in San Antonio. Mom worked for NEISD for close to 30 years as a food service manager, in which she loved seeing all the little children's faces. One of her passions was her garden, which was always full. Many plants were rescued by her, which she would find discarded on the floor of the plant stores she loved to frequent. She would bring them home, and they would thrive under her loving care.
Our mother had the biggest heart and such a joy for life; her laughter would light up any room. She was the heart and soul of our family. To say that we will miss her is an understatement, but we look forward to the day when we will all be together again. Our hearts are comforted knowing she is at peace reunited with all the loved ones who have gone before us and is in the loving hands of our Lord. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched, and we will carry her in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you Mom, but we know that you and Dad are watching over us.
