Listen to Obituary

Margarita “Maggie” D. Salinas, 88, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2025, in San Antonio. She was born on July 13, 1937, in Corpus Christi and spent her life there surrounded by family, friends, and community.

Maggie lived her life with energy, generosity, and unwavering faith. In her younger years, she loved to play tennis and was a devoted runner, always embracing the joy of staying active.

Alongside her beloved husband, Ike, Maggie built a successful business through hard work, determination, and a shared commitment to providing for their family. Their partnership was not only the foundation of their livelihood, but also a reflection of their strength together.

Just as important to Maggie was her deep devotion to the Catholic Church. She and Ike were pillars of their parish, offering their time and talents in countless ways over the years. She was also a cherished member of a rosary group, where she found strength, fellowship, and peace in prayer. Her faith was the steady center of her life and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

Maggie’s compassion extended beyond her family and church. For several years, she devoted herself to caring for the elderly. To her, it was never just a job, but a calling — an expression of her belief that every person deserved dignity, kindness, and love.

Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three children, Rosie Rodriguez, Russell Salinas, and Carrie Gonzalez; and six grandchildren — Eric, Edward, Hailey, Hannah, Bobby, and Nicholas. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, generosity, and faith. She was preceded in death by her siblings Chito, Juan, Dora, Arturo, Pete, Ray, Romolo, Eugenio, and Florence.

Maggie will be remembered as a woman of service, prayer, and devotion, whose life touched many and whose faith never wavered. She is reunited now with Ike, the love of her life, and rests in the eternal peace of God’s embrace.
