Margaret Ann “Peggy” Cage (O'Neill)

Margaret Ann Cage, 73, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Born in Syracuse, New York, on July 22, 1952, to Gregory and Catherine O'Neill, Margaret was a proud New Yorker. She carried a gentle attitude and a remarkable light with her throughout her life.

She was the beloved wife of the late David Cage, who was the love of her life. After his passing in 1990, Margaret devoted her life to her family, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience as she raised her children. She did everything for them, and her home was a source of unconditional love.

Margaret’s life was defined by service and compassion. She spent 20 years at Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Syracuse, rising through the ranks to Assistant to the Director of Provider Relations. She later served the school system as a secretary at Danforth Elementary and Lafayette Junior/Senior High. However, her true heart for others shone brightest in her later career as a Resident Counselor and Home Health Aide. Working in New York, Arizona, and Texas, she cared for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness, always striving to guide them to their fullest potential with dignity and patience.

Margaret was a peaceful, lovable soul who had the rare gift of making every moment and experience feel magical. She simply enjoyed having a good time, bringing life, laughter, and a kind heart to every room she entered. She was known for her wonderful, sarcastic wit and a laugh that was full of joy. Family and friends will fondly remember the comfort of her home, especially when she was baking her famous sausage rolls.

She was a safe harbor for everyone, always taking the time to listen without judgment or an ill word for anyone. Her beautiful, light spirit was a gift to all who knew her. A woman of faith, Margaret also loved to sing and was a dedicated member of the St. Anthony of Padua Gospel Choir.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, Jason (Grace) Cage, Daniel (Marshley) Cage, Vanessa Cage, and Patti Ryan. She was the adored and proud grandmother of Cristian, Brooklyn, Jaxson, John, Aria, Aurora, and Ava. She is also survived by her siblings, Patti Dishaw, Terri O'Neill, Gregory O'Neill, and David O'Neill.

She is now reunited in peace with her husband, David; her parents, Gregory and Catherine; and her sister, Nancy.

She will be profoundly missed, and her magical spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her."
