Listen to Obituary

Leonard Calvin Young of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on

November 23. He was 93 years old.

Leonard was born October 26, 1932 in Strong City, Oklahoma. Leonard lived a full life

doing things he loved with the people he loved. He never gave less than 100% to any

endeavor. And he naturally excelled at every effort. Inherently athletic, he was an avid

golfer, a skilled hunter and played minor league baseball. He served in the Army for 3

years where he received training as a paratrooper and a medal for good conduct. But

his first loves were his God and his family. He served as an elder in the South

Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many decades where he made many lifelong

friends. He was inherently kind and generous, never refusing to help a person in need.

A true patriarch, Leonard Young will be missed most by his family. He was married to

the love of his life, Patrianelia on April 11, 1958. During their 67 years of marriage, they

would have 4 children, 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by his

wife Pat, daughters Kelly Lynn Saunders and Tracy Lea Pankau, their husbands James

Saunders and Jared Pankau, his son Christopher Glenn Young, grandchildren Drew

Calvin Saunders and wife Kaeli Saunders and Mena Harper Young along with 6 great

grandchildren, his brother Orval Glenn Young and wife Maryella (Tincy) Young. He was

preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Sue Young and brothers Alva Joy Young

and James Leeroy Young.
