Lana Joyce Holland, a beloved wife, mother, and friend born March 13, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas June 25, 2025, at the age of 85. Lana joins her husband of 61 years, Robert Leon Holland, Jr who has waited patiently with open arms since February 21, 2021. Together now forever, in the grace of God, they spend eternity.
Lana’s priority was always family and built with her strong faith in God. She raised her children and was active in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also worked at Trinity University as the Secretary to the Dean of The Home Building Department and later worked alongside her husband, Bob ,and daughter, Julie, at Holland Optical ,which they started in 1983 and retired in 2007.
She always lived by example with compassion, gratitude, love and faith. She lived with a soft heart, having kindness for others, and always prayed.
Lana is preceded in death by her parents Bell Travis and Hazel Irene Tunnell and brother Bell Travis Tunnell, Jr. (Anita Jeanne Marsh). She leaves behind brother Ronald Henry Tunnell (Carla Tull Tunnell); children Robert Scott Holland (Terry Parker Holland), Laura Holland Wakefield, and Julie Holland Cruger (Scott Sterling Cruger); grandchildren Justin Robert Cruger (Ashley Smith Cruger), Travis Scott Cruger (Allison Andrews Cruger), Davis Scott Holland, Madison Wakefield Waters (Case Aaron Waters), Nicholas Vaughn Holland, Lauren Nicole Wakefield, and Britton Parker Holland; great - grandchildren Lana Jewell Cruger, Wyatt Kenneth Cruger, Sadie Barrett Cruger, Madelyn Ann Cruger, Holland Jean Cruger, Eleanor Mae Cruger, Katherine Jean Waters, and Charlotte Grace Waters. Lana will be deeply missed.
