It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we honor the life of Julie Hernandez, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, neighbor, and faithful servant of the Lord.
Mom's life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family, her strong spirit, and the unconditional love she so freely shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Julie passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on October 24, 2026, at the age of 94. She was a loving and caring woman who faithfully looked after each member of her family. She offered help without being asked and accepted people just as they were. Julie took great pride in her careers at Joske's of Texas, where she worked for many years, and with the Bexar County Elections Department.
She loved having her family close and took great joy in providing them with love, support, and, of course, her home-cooked meals. She especially cherished helping raise her grandchildren, creating lasting memories and sharing a love that will continue through generations.
She is survived by her siblings, A.J. Puente, Clara Mascorro, Frances Garza, and Janie Lenz; her sons, Alfred Mascorro, David Mascorro, Johnny Mascorro, and Albert Mascorro; her grandchildren, Julia Lozano, Diamond Mascorro, Jonathan Mascorro, David Mascorro III, Jon Eric Mascorro, Michael Mascorro, Jayleen Mascorro, and Kimberly Hernandez; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Mascorro, Leo Mascorro, and David Mascorro IV.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Abdon Salazar Puente and Juanita Garza; her son, Phillip Mascorro; her brother, Nieves Puente; and her sisters, Dominga Puente, Mary Mascorro, and Dora Vera.
Her love, kindness, strength, and devotion to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.
