With profound respect and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Jose U. Valdez, who departed this life on July 28, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 83. Born on March 12, 1943, in Mexico, Jose spent his years embracing the values of family, compassion, and resilience that guided him throughout his journey.

Jose’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He shared a deep and enduring partnership with his beloved wife, Amabilia Briones, who survives him. Together, they built a family rooted in mutual support, love, and traditions that will continue to unite those who remember him.

He was a devoted father to his sons: Lino Valdez, Mauro Valdez, and Eliseo Valdez. Jose’s guidance and presence shaped their lives and offered a lasting foundation for the generation that followed. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Lino Jr., Malina, Alina, Anastasia, Isabella, Nichole, Anthony, Isaac, Iliana, Isiah, and Israel. Each of them carries forward his lessons of kindness, determination, and loyalty.

Jose also leaves behind his brothers, Lorenzo Valdez and Jesus Valdez, whose bonds with him were a source of lifelong strength and kinship. While Jose now reunites with loved ones who have gone before him—his brothers Guadalupe and Felipe Valdez, his sisters Vickey and Soledad, his father Jose Sr. Valdez, and his mother Teodora Valdez—his memory remains a guiding light for those he leaves behind.

Throughout his life, Jose faced challenges and triumphs with humility and perseverance. Though many chapters and personal milestones remain private within the hearts of his family, the enduring love and respect from his relatives and friends are testaments to his character and impact.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, August 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Promised Land Church, located at 9403 SE Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78223. A church service will be held on the same day, beginning at 5:00 p.m., also at The Promised Land Church.

As we bid farewell to Jose U. Valdez, we celebrate a life filled with generosity, devotion, and steadfast love. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
