Jose Silvas Jr. passed away on September 3, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1945, in Floresville, Texas.

Jose will be remembered for the things that brought him joy and for the time he shared with the people he loved. He enjoyed cowboy movies and watching The Wizard of Oz. He also loved spending time with his friends and family. Jose was a big 49ers fan, a painter, and he enjoyed restoring furniture, a profession that reflected his patience and care.

He is survived by his children, Valerie Scott, Johnny Joe Silvas, Marcus Silvas, Emily Silvas, and Lisa Villarreal. He is also survived by his sister, Maria Limon Castillo, Lillie Silvas, the mother of his children, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. May the love they shared with Jose and the memories they carry bring comfort in the days ahead.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Silvas Sr., his mother, Lupe Silvas, and his five siblings.

Visitation will be held on September 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. A Rosary will be held there on September 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. A Mass will be held at 11am on September 10, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1009 Trail Street, Floresville, TX 78114.
