Jose C Sanchez

Jose C Sanchez, born on November 7, 1942, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and vibrant memories that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Jose's life was defined by his strong bonds with his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted children: his sons, Abel Sanchez, Genaro Javier Sanchez, and Joe Lee Sanchez, and his daughters, Yolanda Sanchez, Cynthia Sanchez, Joanna Nunez, and Gladys Tovar. Their enduring love and respect are a testament to the profound influence Jose had on their lives. Jose’s family also includes his siblings—Domingo Sanchez and Gilberto Manuel Sanchez, his brothers, and Felipa Sanchez Ramirez and Juanita Sanchez Gomez, his sisters. He is also remembered fondly by Yolanda Villarreal.

Jose is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genoveva Sanchez, whose memory he held dearly in his heart. He is reunited in rest with his six siblings as well as his father, Genaro Sanchez, and mother, Trinidad Sanchez.

Throughout his eighty-three years, Jose exuded a zest for life. He loved to travel, finding joy and adventure whenever he set off on new journeys. The simple pleasures brought him happiness as well—for Jose, few moments were better than enjoying a cold Bud Light, especially when the air was fragrant with the aroma of barbecue, surrounded by his family and friends. Outdoor activities called to him; he delighted in going to water parks and savoring the peace of swimming in the river. These moments reflect the spirit of a man who truly embraced life and those he cared for, cultivating lasting memories through laughter, shared meals, and time spent together in nature.

To honor Jose's life and pay tribute to his memory, family and friends are invited to attend the services. Visitation will be held at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204, on August 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This will be followed by a chapel service at the same location from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Jose will then be laid to rest at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Rd., San Antonio, TX 78214, with the burial service beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Jose C Sanchez will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the stories told around family tables, the laughter at outdoor gatherings, and the strong bonds he cultivated. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to his family and friends during this time of loss.
