In Loving Memory of John Wesley Potter III

July 24, 1951 – October 23, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Wesley Potter III, age 75, of San Antonio, Texas, who peacefully entered his Heavenly home on October 23, 2026. John was the only son of John Wesley Potter Jr. and Marjorie Lee (Brown) Potter and the older brother of five younger sisters.

John was a devoted husband, an incredible father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family, doing things the right way, and enjoying life along the way.

For 54 years, John shared his life with his wife, Darla. Together, they raised three children, built a wonderful life, and made countless memories. From the moment they met until the very end, John and Darla danced through life together. Dancing with Darla was always one of his greatest joys.

John was the kind of dad every child deserves. He worked hard to give his family the best life possible but always made time for his children. He coached all three in Little League and many other sports, spent countless hours at practices and games, and was always their biggest supporter. He didn't just provide for his family; he showed up for them. Whether at a ballgame, a family gathering, or an ordinary day, John brought an energy and enthusiasm that made every occasion special.

John dedicated his career to A.J. Monier and was a proud member of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union No. 142 for 50 years. Known for his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication, he was highly respected throughout the Local. He took great pride in his trade and the lifelong friendships he built along the way.

John had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a gift for storytelling. Whether sharing stories from his younger days or his years in the trade, he could captivate a room and always knew how to make people laugh.

He enjoyed college football, NASCAR, music, golf, shooting, and spending time with family. He worked hard, enjoyed life, and loved his family above all else.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Darla; his daughter, Joie Nevedomsky and her husband, Nevo; and his two sons, John Potter IV and his wife, Kelli, and Justin Potter and his wife, Jamie. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

John will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, unforgettable stories, quick wit, and fierce love for his family. He had a way of making life bigger, better, and more memorable for everyone lucky enough to know him.

Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.
