Joe R. Cruz, a devoted husband, loving brother, and enthusiastic sports fan, passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on May 11, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas, Joe was a lifelong resident of the city, where he cultivated deep roots and cherished relationships throughout his life.

Joe is remembered as a loyal and caring individual, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His unwavering devotion to his family and friends was evident in every aspect of his life. He was not just a supporter in moments of joy but also a comforting presence during times of sorrow, truly embodying the spirit of kindness that defined him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forever, Angela Rangel, and his dear sisters, Aide Perez and Joanna Martinez Reyna (Chuy). Together, they carry forward his legacy of love and support.

Joe's passion for sports was a significant part of his personality. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a dedicated supporter of the San Antonio Spurs, and a hardcore Texans enthusiast. His enthusiasm for sports often brought friends and family together, creating moments of joy and camaraderie that will be cherished forever.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Felix Cruz, and his mother, Gloria Martinez. Their influence shaped the wonderful person he grew to be, and their memories will always remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A visitation will be held on September 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. Following the visitation, there will be a prayer service starting at 3:00 PM and concluding at 3:30 PM.
