Jesus Cruz Puentes

Jesus Cruz Puentes, born on May 31, 1939, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. His life was a quiet testament to love, family, and the deep roots that held everyone together. He was known for his gentle humor and the way he always made everyone feel welcome at his table.

Jesus was the beloved son of the late Eulalio Puentes Ibarra and Anastacia Cruz Jaquez, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Laura H. Puentes. He also leaves behind his children: Nancy Araujo, Ana Lilia Puentes and Laura Alonso, along with her husband, Juan Alonso, as well as his cherished sister, Hermelinda Herrera.

Jesus was a proud and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Aaron Araujo, Nora Araujo, Edward Araujo, Valerie Araujo, Jose Araujo, Ruben Puentes Salazar, Nickolas Puentes Noriega, and Liliana Alonso. He was also a loving great‑grandfather to Alexia Araujo, Edward Araujo Jr., and Alora Coronado. His family meant everything to him, and he took great joy in watching it grow across generations.

Jesus was preceded in death by his siblings: Efrain Puentes, Raul Puentes, Dolores Cruz, Clemente Puentes, Juan Puentes, and Jovita Sanchez. Their memories live on as an important part of his story and the family they shared.

More than anything, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose strength, hard work, and deep love for his family never faded. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed by his family, and all who knew and loved him.
