In Loving Memory of Jaedon Keith Foster
Jaedon Keith Foster, age 21, of San Antonio, Texas, left this life, but not our hearts on Monday, August 4th, 2025. Born in Dallas on April 15th, 2004, Jaedon shared not only his name but also his birthday with his paternal grandfather, Deryl Keith Foster Sr., who passed before Jaedon was born. He also never had the chance to meet his paternal grandmother, Diane Foster. Though they were gone before his arrival, there is comfort in knowing they watched over him throughout his life, proud of the man he was becoming and the love he shared so freely. Jaedon was blessed to know his maternal grandfather, Ricardo Ortiz, during his early childhood, before his passing when Jaedon was just two years old. Arriving the day before his mother’s birthday, Jaedon was, and will always be, her greatest gift.
From his earliest days, Jaedon’s life was defined by kindness, a good heart, and an unstoppable sense of humor. The curly, bushy-haired, sun-bright-smile child grew into the iconic middle brother—always ready for adventure, dares, and laughter. Whether eating whole jalapeños on a dare from his older brother Joseph or wrestling his younger brother Joel (and usually losing), Jaedon filled every space with energy, warmth, and joy. Even when Mom or Dad tried to discipline him, his dramatic antics had them holding back laughter. Jaedon had a fire in him—a spark that could not be dimmed. He found humor, laughter, and pure silliness in everything and everyone he knew, and he shared it freely.
Jaedon graduated from Clemens High School in Schertz in 2022. In the summer of 2023, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves in Security Forces. Through his dedication and hard work, he achieved the rank of E4 by the time of his passing. He loved the Air Force deeply and had plans to transition to full active duty later this year. His commander and fellow airmen spoke with heartfelt admiration for his character, commitment, and the uplifting spirit he brought to every mission and every room he entered.
His compassion was as remarkable as his humor. In elementary school, he quietly joined a program to sit with special needs students at lunch—just to make them feel included. He didn’t do it for recognition; he did it because it was right. That’s who Jaedon was: someone who saw others, loved them as they were, and made them feel valued. He adored animals, especially his beloved pet Max, who could often be found scratching at Jaedon’s door at bedtime.
His grandmothers, Mela and Nana, shared a very special bond with Jaedon. They poured love, wisdom, and endless encouragement into his life, and he returned that love tenfold. Whether it was a visit filled with laughter, a meal shared, or simply sitting together in quiet conversation, Jaedon cherished his time with them, and they cherished every moment they had with him.
Jaedon’s family circle extended far beyond blood. In addition to his aunts, uncles, and cousins, he had many “adopted” aunts, uncles, and cousins—close family friends from both his mother’s and father’s lives who loved him as their own. To them, Jaedon wasn’t just a friend’s child—he was family, and he filled that role with the same warmth, loyalty, and humor he gave to everyone.
His friends called him “the glue” and “the spark”—the one who could turn around the mood of an entire room with a smile, a joke, or a bit of playful mischief. He will be missed most deeply by his four closest friends, Christian, Joseph, Dame, and Jaliyaa, along with countless others whose lives were made brighter because of him.
Jaedon is survived by his loving parents, Michelle Ortiz Foster and Joseph Keith Foster; his brothers, Joel and Joseph; his grandmothers, Mela and Nana; aunts and uncles, “adopted” family members, close friends, and fellow airmen. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Deryl Keith Foster and Diane Foster, and his maternal grandfather, Ricardo Ortiz.
A celebration of life will be held in Jaedon’s honor at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends.
"Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor." – Romans 12:10
This scripture was one Jaedon himself had chosen and held close to his heart. It reflected the way he lived—devoted to others, quick to love, and always striving to show honor to those around him.
Jaedon lived loud, loved hard, and laughed often—but above all, he loved well. And that is exactly how he will be remembered.
