Irvin Hezekiah Roberts, Sr.

Irvin Hezekiah Roberts was the eldest of ten children; he was born in Sittee River, Belize on September 13, 1932. Upon graduating from school, he worked in the lumber industry where he attained the position as a supervisor. He met and married Alvine Winell Card, and together they had seven children.
He moved to the capital, Belize City in 1963. Here, he worked as a prison guard. In 1968, he migrated to the United States of America, settled in Chicago, IL, and started working as a general laborer for several different companies. He retired from Kraft General Foods in 1994, and returned to Belize with his wife.
Within three years, they decided to return to the US and settle in San Antonio, TX, where they were reunited with some of their children. As a young man while living in Belize, Irvin enjoyed playing cricket, swimming, and diving. Some other hobbies included playing cards, dominoes, and watching his favorite team, The Chicago cubs play baseball. He was overjoyed when they finally won The World Series in 2016. While in Chicago, he was also an avid Chicago Bulls fan. In his later years he also enjoyed watching the San Antonio Spurs. His favorite past-time on the weekends was barbecuing and spending time with family and friends. Irvin was not a man of many words, however, upon your first encounter with him he would proudly share his life experiences.
In 2001, he gave his life to the Lord and could be seen reading and reviewing his bible verses first thing in the morning. He attended Maranatha Bible Church where he served as an usher. As his health declined, he remained engaged in church services on TV. Irvin passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
