Geraldine Bennett

Geraldine (Berry) Bennett was born on September 5, 1949 to Mamie Harrison and Irving Joe Berry in Queens, NY. As a young girl her family moved to Long Island, NY. She attended Farmingdale High School were she was an avid Basketball and Volleyball player and graduated in 1966. Geraldine was always a loving person and her positive energy was contagious. At the age of 19, she married her now ex husband Julius Bennett on June 8, 1968 and they had two children, Angela Bennett and Derrick Bennett. After traveling internationally and nationally as a military wife, she settled in Wyandanch, NY where she raised her children and served as well respected Girl Scout leader.
After a few years there she purchased her first home in North Babylon, NY and worked as a data entry clerk at the Federal Reserve Bank.
After retirement, she relocated from NY to San Antonio, TX, where she was able to do all of the things she loved, including caring for her dogs Manny and Roxy, baking, sewing and helping people. Geraldine will be truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mamie Harrison, her father, Irving Joe Berry and her sister, Gladys Harrison, and leaves behind her three brothers Ray Charles Harrison, Arnold Harrison, and Kenneth Gaither, two children, Angela Bennett and Derrick Bennett, two grandchildren Shantel Hubbard and Amaris Bennett, a host of nieces and nephews, numerous friends and her Kingdom Hall brothers and sisters.
