It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George William Brown, affectionately known as “Billy.” Born on February 19, 1961, in Jacksonville, TN, he left this world unexpectedly on February 12, 2026, in San Antonio, TX. We are still processing the profound loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Billy lived his life with a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. He was the kind of man who could make anyone laugh, even on their hardest days. His deep faith in God guided him, and his love for his family was the center of everything he did. Whether he was spending time outdoors, working with his hands, or lending his skills as a home remodeler and all‑around handyman, Billy poured his whole spirit into every moment.
He touched the lives of many with his kindness, his loyalty, and his ability to show up when it mattered most. His presence brought warmth and light, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Though his passing was unexpected, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain with us forever.
Billy is survived by his devoted wife, LaFaye Brown, and their five children: Antwain Brooks (Oteria) of Illinois, Jacqueline Morris of Michigan, George Brown Jr., Steve Brown, and Chiquita Brown, all of Texas. He was also a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 2 great grandchildren. Billy held a special bond with his siblings, Howard L. Brown, Steven M. Brown, Sebastian Brown, Diane Randolph, Mazell Brown, Betty Brown, Tammy Brown, Hayley Brown, and Tabitha Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard L. Brown, and mother, Katye B. Brown, as well as five sisters: Shirley Forrest, Ernestine Ingram, Mary Stewart, Linda Brown, and Kathy Brown.
