SFC (R) Gary Richard Rogney, 75, of New Richland, Minnesota passed away in Selma, Texas on March 24, 2019. He was born September 23, 1943 in Shelton, Washington to Richard and Beverly Rogney.

He was the consummate Soldier having served for over 30 years in uniform as a Cavalry Scout with two tours in Vietnam and numerous years keeping watch over Europe’s eastern border during the Cold War era. When the time came to hang up the Stetson and Spurs he continued to serve as a mentor, coach and role model for countless Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps students both on Guam and Fort Knox, having a lasting impact on their lives.
He is survived by his wife Debra, his sons Richard and wife Andrea, Michael and wife Alicia, his daughter Joan and husband Mike and his grandchildren Susan, Drake, Robin, Kirsten, Kyle, Erik and Grant.
