Francis Macarius Lucas III was called home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2026 in his home in Windcrest, Texas after a long illness. Frank was the first son and third child born in Columbus Ohio on Oct 2, 1948 to Inez and Francis Lucas.
The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1951 where Frank attended school through high school. He was proud to become a US Marine in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1969 after his brave service in Vietnam. His decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal and the Rifle Marksman Badge.
Frank graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco in 1974 and moved with his first wife to Universal City, Tx where he worked at Randolph Air Force Base, retiring from the 12th Civil Engineering Squadron in the engineering division. While working, he completed many courses at Texas Lutheran and Texas A&M University. Outside of his government service, Frank was also an entrepreneur. He owned AAA Rental in Universal City and multiple rental properties.
Fatherhood was one of Frank’s greatest joys. He took many opportunities to teach and guide his four children through travel and life experiences. He also enjoyed playing pool and was a member of various pool leagues over the years. Frank was always learning and continued courses in construction, wood work, and other trades during retirement. When he was younger he became a black belt in karate and even earned his auctioneer license at World Wide School of Auctioneering in Iowa.
Frank is survived by his loving family, Wife Rosa Perez Lucas, Daughters Michelle Lucas Curiel (Las Vegas)(Ernesto); Crystal Lucas (Converse), Jessica Lucas (Converse), Son Raul Perez Delgado (Windcrest); Siblings, Linda E Lucas, (St Petersburg), Daniel G Lucas, (Austin)Mary Jo Lafaitte, (Austin) and grandchildren, Ruben, Braeden, Raul, Evangelina, Leila, Jordan, Alexis, Colt, Avery.
Services will be held at Puente and Sons funeral home at 14315 Judson Rd. on March 4th at 11:30am. Viewing at 9am. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 2:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
