Ernest M. Espinoza Jr., born on October 20, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away in his hometown on April 12, 2026. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we remember a man whose life was marked by dedication, humor, and a fierce love for family, friends and the outdoors.
Known to many as both a hard working provider and a jokester. Those who knew him cherished his quick wit and the joy he brought to countless moments. Beyond his professional life, Ernest was a true outdoorsman who found peace and pleasure in fishing, camping, and hunting. A passionate sports fan, football held a special place in his heart.
Ernest’s immense generosity leaves a legacy that is deeply carried on by his children: Elias, Kaleb, Kristopher, Kristian, Kali, Katelynn, Amber and son in law Carlos, each of whom carries a piece of his strength, generosity, and kindness. He was also a devoted grandfather to Dino, Leslie, Elias Jr., Gabriel, Autumn and Hazel. His mother, Irene Mendoza, and brothers Edmond, James, and Denis remain pillars of strength, along with his beloved niece Jacqueline, and numerous other uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Ernest is also remembered tenderly by his father, Ernest Espinoza Sr., who has preceded him in passing.
The community will gather to honor Ernest’s memory with a visitation on April 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, located at 3520 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78204. A memorial service will be held on the same day at 11:30 AM, offering a moment for reflection and prayer. Following these solemn observances, friends and family will come together for a graveside service at Mission Burial Park South, 1700 S.E. Military, San Antonio, TX 78214, beginning at 1:30 PM.
Ernest’s journey through life was filled with moments of laughter, a deep connection to his roots, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved. His presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him, inspiring us to embrace life with the same zeal, humor, generosity, and love that he so effortlessly embodied.
