Elizabeth “Beth” Mae Hudson - mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, and friend- born March 26, 1939, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Beth is preceded in death by her parents Mr. George Maxlow & Mrs. Lillian LaForge, second husband Duane “Tiny” Hudson, first husband Alan “Andy” Anderson, her brothers George Maxlow, Harry Switzer and Edwin Switzer, and daughter Kathleen "Kathy" Hillner.

Beth was saved at a young age while attending youth group at First Baptist Church in Tucson Arizona. As a young girl, she assumed substantial responsibilities within her family, aiding in the care of her brothers and supporting her mother, while moving frequently due to her father's military service.

In 1957, Beth married Alan Anderson, a U.S. Marine and Korean War veteran. The couple settled in Tucson Arizona during Alan's studies at the University of Arizona School of Mines and later had one daughter and three sons. Alan’s work as a mining engineer meant relocating regularly, primarily within the western United States.

Throughout these transitions, Beth was quick to make each house a home, establishing every household with dedication, and providing unwavering support to her family. She prioritized imparting practical skills and fostering independence in her children. Beth emphasized faith in daily life, consistently guiding her family with a strong spiritual foundation and engaging actively in local church communities wherever they resided.

Her commitment to hospitality was evident through her willingness to welcome guests to share the comfort of her home and the generosity of her table. Food and hospitality were how Beth showed her love. Beth was not only talented in the kitchen, but she was also artistic and skilled in crafts. She excelled in sewing, ceramics, crocheting, and painting to name a few. All these crafts were made with love to be given away and bless others, such as her making baby blankets for all her grandchildren.

As the years passed, Beth applied her culinary skills professionally as a cook in Fallon, Nevada. It was in Fallon where she met Tiny, her second husband. They got married in 1989. Tiny was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was fully disabled in the service of his country. In 2003 Tiny and Beth moved from Fallon Nevada to San Antonio, Texas to better take care of Tiny. Beth faithfully loved and tenderly cared for Tiny, sharing many happy times together, until Tiny passed away in 2011. While in San Antonio Beth joined Believers Fellowship and was a faithful member. She was active in many ministries such as Sunday school classes, women’s Bible studies, and “Annas’ Group”, a ministry for widows. She hosted countless meals in her home, developing lasting friendships and was faithful to serve wherever she was able. Beth’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and holiday get togethers,

Hallmark movies, singing old hymns, decorating her home for each holiday season, phone calls from family and friends, watching Chicago Cubs baseball, and coffee with her daughter on Saturday mornings. She will be remembered as a faithful child of God, her steadfast character, dedication to family, mentorship, and church involvement. Beth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Alan & Karen Anderson (3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren), Kenneth & Cindy Anderson (3 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren), Timothy & Tina Anderson (4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren), and Pete & Suzanne Hudson and her son-in-law Gary Hillner (8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren).

A Memorial Service will be held at Believers Fellowship Church, located at 13714 Lookout Rd, San Antonio, TX 78233 on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
