Edward (Eddie) Linnartz went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 1, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. “Eddie fought the good fight, he has finished the race and he has kept the faith. Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to Eddie on that day and not only to him, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. “ 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
He was born on September 11, 1949 in Boerne, Tx. His family moved to Devine shortly after his birth, where he lived until he moved to San Antonio. While in Devine, he worked for his dad, Erich, building houses. He did a lot of things in his career, Army (helicopter repair), driving 18 wheelers, working with cattle, buying and selling vehicles and became a salesman selling irrigation equipment. On May 1, 1987, he went to work for Preferred Pump and Equipment. He loved this company, the owner and all the people he worked with, plus, his vendors, suppliers and the customers. He worked for Preferred as a salesman, opened several branches, became a Regional Manager and when he retired on December 31, 2017, he still worked as a contractor after his retirement, for the company he so loved. He was loved by so many people and had such a heart for helping whomever he could. He was a man of God and his faith and worship was important to him. He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, Papa and uncle. His grands always gave him great joy and he was blessed to have so many.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of 30 years; sister in law, Nancy Ray, son Wesley McDaniel (Analisa), daughter Jessica McDaniel (William, fiancé), all of San Antonio. Son, Lance Rogers (Sherri) of Nebraska; daughter Heather Yanta (Chris) of Devine. 14 grandchildren, Wyatt, Felipe, Riley, Korben, Violet, Archer, Carson, Rowan, Ivy, Jacob (Maggie), Ethan, Bryce, Jessica, Jarrod and 1 great grandchild, Matthew. His brother Roy Linnartz (Faye) of New Braunfels, sister Patsy Turner (Danny) of Schertz. Numerous nieces and nephews, Neal, Deborah, Alexis, Manny, Sarah, Anna.
Eddie was a man that had great strength, integrity, faith and a big heart and was very loved by all. His priority in life was to take care of his family and anyone else that needed a hand. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends and he has touched so many people in his life that will miss him also.
