Donnie Joe Smith

Donnie Joe Smith has passed away here in San Antonio, Texas on April 4, 2026.  He lost his recurring battle against Cancer and all its complications.  Donnie was born in May 2, 1961 in Dallas, TX and spent most of his life growing up there.  He passed away smiling and holding the hands of his wife of 42 years Roberta K. Bowers-Smith along with his sons Zachary Keahi Smith and Daniel Ray Smith during his last hospital stay.  Donnie was an adventurous soul, often see outdoors riding his bike or at his latest fishing hole.  His adventures brought him great joy.  Donnie is survived by his wife and sons, multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He is also survived by his siblings Tammy Johnson, Charlotte Smith, Diane Johnson and Raymond Clark and their spouses and partners' in life.  Donnie's services will be held at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels located at 14315 Judson Rd., San Antonio, Texas  78233 on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 PM with his Eulogy set to begin at 6:30 PM.
