Delton David Murie also known as Forrest, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother, passed away on January 11, 2026, in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Born on September 10, 1958, Delton was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him, with a spirit that touched many hearts.

A proud graduate of Burbank High School, Delton embarked on a fulfilling career, retiring after 16 dedicated years from the San Antonio Independent School District. His commitment to his work was evident, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues he encountered throughout his professional journey.

Delton cherished the time spent with his wife, Nora Torres, and family. Together, they created a warm and loving household filled with laughter and support. He took immense joy in being a father to her children—Jennifer (Mike), Christina (Jaime), Jessica, David, and Michael—who together with their spouses and partners were grateful for the wisdom and love he imparted to them. As a grandfather to 19 grandchildren and  3 great-grandchildren, Delton's legacy of love and kindness will live on through them.

Delton was known not just for his dedication to family but also for his many hobbies and interests. He found great pleasure in working in his yard, nurturing his plants and gardens, and embracing the beauty of nature. Delton loved his pets chico ,baby, bobo and tom, he cared for them and enjoyed being around them. Delton loved to BBQ while enjoying time with family. Music was another passions of his; he enjoyed listening to country tunes, classic rock, and allowing the melodies to fill his heart with joy. Delton was an avid sports fan, relishing the moments spent attending baseball games with the San Antonio Missions and watching his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys, as well as a passionate fan of the San Antonio Spurs.

Delton was known to his wife's family as Forrest, she nick named him when they were dating and the name stayed on throughout the years. Delton loved spending time with his grandchildren that called him grandpa Forrest, he was fortunate to watch them grow and graduate. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Nora, and his loving children and their families, including his brothers, Bernie (Sofie) and Gilbert, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Though his parents, Richard and Irene G. Murie, and his sister, Barbara Jean Alvarado, as well as his mother-in-law, Leonor C. Torrez, have all preceded him in death, the memory and life of Delton - also known as Forrest will forever be etched in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

In remembering Delton Murie, we celebrate a life of service, love, and joy—a legacy that will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
