Dale Lee Trappman
Dale Lee Trappman entered into the presence of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on October 16, 2026. For those who loved her, there is sorrow in saying goodbye, but also comfort in knowing that Dale is now home with the Lord she came to know and love so deeply.
Dale shared 68 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bill Trappman. Their life together took them to different places through Bill’s military service, with their final assignment bringing them to Randolph Air Force Base, now JBSA-Randolph. It was here that they put down roots and made their home.
Dale was a woman of strong will and independent spirit who was accustomed to making her own way. After arriving in the San Antonio area, she built a successful career with the newspaper, eventually becoming Director of Advertising.
Dale’s life changed dramatically following a sinkhole accident and the onset of Multiple Sclerosis. In a relatively short time, she lost much of the independence she treasured, along with her good health and successful career. Bedridden and with her eyesight greatly diminished, Dale found herself in a place she never could have imagined.
It was there that Jesus had her full attention.
As she read the large-print Bible her daughters had given her, Dale gave her heart to Jesus and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. Her faith became a source of strength, comfort, and hope that would sustain her through the years ahead.
That faith became an important part of Dale and Bill’s life together as well. From 1986 to 1999, the Lord gave them the ministry of The Bible Bookstore, where they had the opportunity to serve others and share the faith that had become so precious to them.
Dale was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest daughter, Tammy.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 68 years, Bill; her daughter, Tracy Noojin and her husband, Gary; and her grandson, Isaac and his wife, Amy. Dale was also dearly loved by many extended family members and friends, including her longtime friends Martha Jane, and Cynthia, affectionately known as Sam, as well as Brenda and Mary, longtime friends of her daughter.
Dale’s family and friends will miss her deeply, but they do not say goodbye without hope. They take comfort in knowing that Dale is with her Savior and look forward in faith to the day when they will see her again, whether through Christ’s return or when they, too, are called home.
A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life and faith will be held October 31 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Chapel San Antonio, 2935 Pat Booker Road, Suite 118, Universal City, Texas 78148.
Dale’s journey with Multiple Sclerosis was long, but it was also filled with faith, perseverance, and the love of family and friends. Her family is deeply grateful to Dr. Ann Bass, her San Antonio neurologist, for the compassionate care and determined advocacy she provided throughout Dale’s years with MS, including her advocacy for treatments and medications that the family believes helped prolong Dale’s life.
Before Dale went home to be with her Lord and Savior, one of her final wishes was that a cure for MS would someday be found. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial gifts to the Accelerated Cure Project, whose work helps advance research toward better diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately a cure for MS.
