Carol Denise Stobb, lovingly known as Aunt Carol to her family, passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 70 in San Antonio, Texas. She will be remembered for her kindness, warm wit, and devotion to the people around her.
Born on October 14, 1955 in San Antonio, Carol lived with an open mind, compassion and conviction. After more than 30 years working at Ace Mart Restaurant Supply, she began a second career as a paraprofessional in middle school special education for North East Independent School District. She cared deeply about her students and believed every child deserved encouragement, dignity, and support.
Outside of work, Carol enjoyed many passions. She was a lifelong Longhorn and proud Texas Ex who spent many years helping students secure scholarships to attend the University of Texas. She faithfully attended Longhorn football games and loved sharing that enthusiasm with friends and family. She was also an avid reader, a skilled bargain shopper, and someone who cared deeply about fairness. Carol was thoughtful, opinionated, and never afraid to speak her mind, and family gatherings were always more lively when she was part of the conversation.
More than anything, Carol made people feel welcome. She remembered small details, checked in on others, and genuinely cared about how people were doing. Her warmth and attentiveness left a lasting impression on many lives.
She is survived by her brother, Bobby Stobb; her niece, Blythe Boeck (Kevin); her beloved great-niece, Addie Boeck; great-nephew, Henry Boeck; numerous cousins, friends, former students, coworkers, and loved ones who will carry her memory forward by making room for others at the table.
The family takes comfort in knowing Carol is reunited with her parents, Robert and Viola Stobb and her brother, Gary Stobb, who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on May 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church of Alamo Heights (6720 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209), followed by interment and a reception.
