Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Carlos Onesimo Cortez, quien partió de esta vida el 17 de marzo de 2026, a la edad de 41 años.
Carlos nació el 4 de octubre de 1984 en Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, hijo de Olga y Carlos Cortez, y creció en Anáhuac, Nuevo León. Fue un hijo, esposo, padre, hermano, cuñado, tío, primo y amigo devoto que tocó la vida de todos los que conoció con su gran corazón, su humor y su gran personalidad.
Pasó muchos años trabajando como pintor para proveer a su familia. Carlos disfrutaba cocinar para su familia, llamar a sus seres queridos —lo que a menudo se convertía en largas horas de conversación— y hacer reír a los demás. Su hogar siempre estaba lleno de risas, amor y el aroma de sus famosas comidas caseras.
A Carlos le sobreviven su esposa, Erica; sus hijos, Carlos, Evan y Uzziel; sus padres, Olga y Carlos; su hermana Astrid y su cuñado Ricardo; su suegro, cuñados, muchos sobrinos, primos y amigos cercanos.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el 23 de marzo de 2026, de 4:00 PM a 8:00 PM en Puente and Sons Funeral Home. El servicio fúnebre tendrá lugar el 24 de marzo de 2026, a las 11:00 AM, seguido del entierro en Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery #2.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos Onesimo Cortez, who departed this life on March 17, 2026, at the age of 41.
Carlos was born on October 4, 1984 in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, to Olga and Carlos Cortez and was raised in Anahuac, Nuevo León. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, brother in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met with his big-heart, humor, and big personality.
He spent many years working as a painter to provide for his family. Carlos enjoyed cooking for his family, checking in on family members that turned into long hours phone calls, and making people laugh. His home was always filled with laughter, love, and the smell of his famous homemade meals.
Carlos is survived by his wife Erica Cortez; children, Carlos, Evan, and Uzziel; his parents Olga and Carlos; sister Astrid and her husband Ricardo, father in law, sister in laws, brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A visitation will be held on March 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels and a funeral service will take place at 6 pm. Burial the following day, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetry #2.
Carlos will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, humor, and good heart.
