Beverly Ann (Bueche) Pollock, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2022. Born in San Antonio, TX on November 5,1943 she was the oldest of three girls.
Shortly after graduating from St. Gerard’s High School in 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard "Dickie" Pollock. Dickie was drafted by the Army, and they lived in Germany for two years. Shortly after returning, their son Bruce was born. They settled in Kirby where they raised their son and made many friends.
Beverly’s professional career began with a short stint at USAA. Later, she became the office secretary at Kirby Junior High in Judson ISD. She was loved by students and staff and is remembered as being no-nonsense but loving, friendly and capable. After retirement she worked at Weight Watchers for many years. She also volunteered at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, at a local school library with her daughter in law, and attended a weekly Bible study.
Throughout her retirement, Beverly and Dickie enjoyed special time with their grandchildren; Justin and Laura. Once a week they picked them up from school for their special time together. Bev planned outings with them such as visiting a local fire station, or the Fort Sam Quadrangle. They also annually went to the Band Festival and took a holiday ride on the Brackenridge Park train. These special memories will last a lifetime for Justin and Laura.
Beverly was appreciative of her many lifelong friends. She was part of a bunco group from her St. Gerard’s class of 1961 that still meets today. If she had to wait in line at the grocery store or the bank, she made a friend. She often spent time with friends discussing world problems, trashy TV shows, or anything else of interest. In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed fishing in Rockport, supporting her grandkids, and loving on her beloved animals.
Beverly is survived by her son, Bruce and his wife Sharon, grandchildren Justin and Laura Pollock, her sister Sharon Owens, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Roland and Marjorie (Gruen) Bueche, sister Linda, and husband, Dickie Pollock.
Beverly had many titles- mom, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and beloved GanGan. She will be missed for her witty humor and bold advice. Her independence and confidence affected everything she did. There was no challenge she couldn’t tackle. She was smart, decisive, and opinionated. She did things her way and we loved her for it.
Help us say goodbye to Beverly on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2829 Ackerman Rd. Kirby, TX. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the Humane Society.
