Armando Cruz Vasquez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the ones he loved most on October 2, 2026 at the age of 74. Born on July 24, 1952 in Wichita Kansas. Armando was proceeded in death by his parents Jesus and Maria Vasquez, as well as his sister Amalia and brother Frank, as well as other family members and friends who went before him. He is survived by his loving wife, Berta Vasquez, his three children; daughter Melissa, her children, Robin, Patrick, Metallica and Eloisa. Son Pablo, his children Pablo Jr. and Jacob. Son Fabian and his children, Pearl, Joshua and Jeremiah. Great grandchildren; Malaki, Mars, and Faith Rosie; his surviving brothers, Max, Danny, George and sisters Velia, Zulema, and Carmen, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. His presence was a gift to everyone he met. His stories, laughter, wisdom, and all the beautiful memories he created with his family will continue to live on for generations. He will be deeply missed, his family will carry him in their hearts forever and takes comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever remain with the Lord.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday 4:00pm October 14, 2026 with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm. The chapel will reopen on Thursday 9am with the funeral procession to depart at 10:15 for an 11am Mass of Resurrection at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2016 Perez St. San Antonio, Texas 78207. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South. Services are under the direction of Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels-South
Following the service, family and friends are welcome to gather back at Christ The King Catholic Church for food and refreshments.
