Anita Turnini Sandoval, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born on November 22, 1955, in San Marcos, Texas.

Anita will be remembered as a woman who found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. She loved fishing and playing softball, and she had a talent for body work on vehicles. She also loved gardening, bringing care and patience to the things she nurtured. Above all, Anita loved her children, and that love remained at the heart of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Chessy Jo Garcia-Johnson (Victoria Garcia-Johnson) and son, Freddy Joe Johnson (Valerie Johnson). She is remembered by her sister, Gracie Trevino (Roy Trevino) and Belinda Frazier (Tony Frazier). Anita’s memory lives on as well in her grandchildren, Eunice Johnson, Corvin Cantu, Freddy Joe Johnson Jr., Adam Rodriguez Jr., and Xzaliya Johnson, each of whom carries forward a part of her love and spirit. She also leaves behind her two grand fur babies Bexar and Jynx.

Anita was preceded in death by her father, Jose Perez Sandoval; her mother, Marcelina Turnini Sandoval; her sister, Patricia Sandoval; her paternal grandparents, Elojio and Eloisa Sandoval and maternal grandparents, Francisco and Refugio Turnini.
