Allen Paul Wilson, AIA, architect and developer, slipped away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at age 80, due to long-term heart conditions. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend. Allen was born in San Antonio to Arthur Eugene (Gene) Wilson and Margaret Matyear Wilson on May 5, 1945. Educated at Highlands High School, San Antonio College, and The University of Texas at Austin, he earned membership with the American Institute of Architects. Allen was the fourth generation of builders in his family. He worked for Robert Calloway Corporation in San Antonio as an architect, project coordinator, director, and Vice President. He founded Wilson Development Corporation with his younger brother, Mike Wilson, in 1979, and retired in 2019.

Allen designed and worked on the development of high-rise condos, office and retail buildings across Texas and other states. Local developments include 4001 N. New Braunfels condos/townhomes, The Gallery condos, Tree House apartments, Chester’s Hamburgers locations, and San Antonio Towers on IH10 W for which he won a Design Award from the Texas Society of Architects.

Allen was known for his generosity, kindness, guidance, and integrity. His humor and optimism charmed everyone. Allen could fix anything and always was a hard worker. He loved to travel and be in nature. He enjoyed flying small planes, scuba diving, NASCAR races, SA Symphony Pops concerts, and family gatherings. Judith Martin and he were married on July 4, 1988. They spent each July 4 th in a different city watching firework displays, sightseeing, dining, and visiting science and art museums. Allen, a volunteerat Boysville for several years, received their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael C. Wilson. Allen is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judith Martin, his brother Arthur E. Wilson, Jr. (Carol) and sister Mary Wilson Klutz (Bill), five nieces and nephews, eleven grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, two godsons, goddaughter, and many close friends and colleagues. The family is grateful for care by Khalioi Lewis, Elizabeth de la Hoyas, and Chris Walker.

Allen requested cremation and his ashes be spread near the creek on a favored ranch. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for April 9, 2026, at 1:30 pm at Woodland Church, 15315 Huebner Rd., San Antonio. He will be remembered for his calm strength, his sense of humor, and generosity to his family and friends.
