Victor R. Treviño

October 5, 1940 — May 30, 2022

Victor Robles Treviño passed peacefully from this life May 30, 2022 at the age of 81 on Memorial Day. He is preceded in death by his father Jesus Treviño and mother Sophia Robles Santibanez.

He was born in Poth, Texas October 5, 1940 and later moved to San Antonio where he graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1959. He enrolled briefly at San Antonio College, joined the Las Incas group on campus and met students who would become lifelong friends. At age 21, he signed on with the 149th Air National Guard where he trained with the fighter interceptor squadron and proudly served six years. He spent his entire career in the restaurant and food service industry and was a loyal patron to his favorite restaurants until the end.

Victor was a loving husband, father to five, grandfather to many and great-grandfather to three. He is survived by his wife Olga Leon Treviño and his sister Sylvia Gustafson of San Diego. His children include Nicholas, Paul, Leticia, Robert and Victoria. As the patriarch of the family, he lovingly provided for all and opened his heart and home to many others throughout his lifetime.

His greatest passion was time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. In retirement, he was able to attend many sporting events, music recitals, school recognitions and was present to celebrate the accomplishments of each. He loved all his grandkids and one could feel the joy and pride he felt for his family. That warmth and love will be missed.

Victor was a lifelong learner and thrived in the Academy of Learning In Retirement program. He attended courses every semester and was asked to teach classes on his favorite subjects: politics and finance. He believed in the power of knowledge and read many newspapers and periodicals daily to keep up with the changing world. And when it came to hobbies, there were many. He enjoyed photography, sailing, archery, sports cars, foreign films and disc golf.

A Celebration of Life is planned Sunday, June 26 to honor the life and loving memory of Victor R. Treviño. The celebration will begin at 1pm at Olympia Hills Golf Club and Event Center in Universal City.
